Re: TOP 10

Podoba mi się to, że Top 10 jest naprawdę wielokulturowa.
To świadczy o takiej samej predyspozycji do długowieczności u wszystkich ras ludzi z wielu kontynentów, wielu krajów.

Re: TOP 10

Opis Najstarszej Dziesiątki. (przepraszam za angielski)

Our current Top 10:

1. Misao Okawa (116 years, 87 days) (Mar. 5, 1898) (9th)
2. Jeralean Talley (115 years, 8 days) (May 23, 1899) (30th)
3. Susannah Jones (114 years, 329 days) ( (July 6, 1899) (36th)
4. Bernice Madigan (114 years, 311 days) (July 24, 1899) (37th)
5. Emma Morano (114 years, 183 days) (Nov. 29, 1899) (58th)
6. Anna Henderson (114 years, 87 days) (Mar. 5, 1900) (81st)
7. Antonia Gerena Rivera (114 years, 12 days) (May 19, 1900) (96th)
8. Ethel Lang (114 years, 4 days) (May 27, 1900) (100th)
9. Nabi Tajima (113 years, 300 days) (Aug. 4, 1900) (117th)
10. Blanche Cobb (113 years, 265 days) (Sept. 8, 1900) (131st)

is exceptional not only because of the long time of their continuance,
but also becasue of the fact, that on June 1, 2014, five of them (half of them) are the people born before 1900. This will never repeat.

Misao Okawa [Japan] *1898 - In her case, the age of the 9th oldest person ever speaks for itself. She enjoyed her 115th and 116th birthday, changed very minor between 115 and 116, at 116 was able to feed herself independently, which is not possible for many people younger than her. It is the sign of good coordination of movements at 116. She has been World's Oldest Person for almost a year of time. Imagine how many people (millions) died during this time in the world. But the World's Oldest Person keeps her position since 12 June 2013. She took the title after 116 yo Jiroemon Kimura being herself aged 115 then. Now she is close to his record. In my opinion, she is one of the most amazing supercentenarians ever. She deserves to establish a new Japanese longevity record. Time will tell.

Jeralean Talley [USA] *1899 - She was at very good condition at 114. At 114 she went fishing, bowling, had an outside-home birthday party in restaurant, a celebration in church. Her health allowed her to turn 115 and she is still in good health. Being able to walk with a help of a walker she is the oldest person in the world who can still walk, even if assisted/aided. At 115 this is something exquisite. What an irony, that she might not be the oldest living person in America.

Susannah Mushatt Jones [USA] *1899 - At 114 was not in such an excellent condition as Jeralean Talley, however, she was healthy and I had a thought that 115 is not out of her reach. Now she is closing in, but there is not a recent report so I can't tell anything more. Interesting is the fact, that despite being 3rd verified (probably 4th in reality) world's oldest living person, she is neither North America's oldest person nor oldest living black person.

Bernice Madigan [USA] *1899 - She keeps amusing everybody by her vitality. She celebrated 113th birthday outside. (Good for her that she was born in summer) At 114 she celebrated her birthday outside again. She is also not the oldest person in the USA, but at least she is the oldest living white person and the earliest verified living person. An anegdote: At her facebook account the has the earliest available birth year chosen: 1905, because fb did not took in calculations the possibility of someone older willing to have his/her account. This is an inadvertence from fb...

Emma Morano [Italy] *1899 - The indisputable Doyenne of Europe and the very last European link to 1800s. Emma Morano maintained perfect mental health at 114, being able to answer questions for 2 hours(!) and socialize with three young men from three foreign countires. Emma Morano is in well general health, which could be described as amazing for a 114,5 year old person, and possesses the ability to recover from injuries/minor illnesses surprisingly fast. She is an individual with the strongest genes of longevity. And she had hard life. Her marriage was unhappy, she worked hard at the factory and later at the church kitchen until she was 75. Mrs. Morano could hardly ever rely on other person than herself. At 114,5 she lives independently only to be helped by a niece, who visits her every day. She is a person with very strong personality. Living on her own is very important to her. Hard times' experience made her resistent to the stess of the everyday's life. She knows the feeling of loneliness. However she confessed to me, that in the past she prefered to be alone, which is understandable after the bad experience with the relation to her husband. Over time however, it changed. Now Mrs. Morano is one of the most sociable and cheerful among our supercentenarians. I can hardly think of another supercentenarian who had this much visits of kind guests, including the local authorities and journalists. She receives visits from many different people even presently at age 114,5. I admire her for her openness. Despite many hardships, she is very optimistic. Mrs. Morano favours the sentence: If a man makes up his mind to live, an illness can not take him. She has very strong will to live. Amazingly strong. When asked whether she feels that she ages slower than other people, she agreed, that over time, she has been ageing "piano, piano" (slowly, slowly) but now she feels that she finally has become old. She attributes her longevity to eating eggs. She ate 4 eggs daily when she was young, now she eats 2-3, also the nuddle soup and raw eggs and raw meat were mentioned. She has good apettite. She never smoked. When asked about the sports, she said she has never done any sports, however walked a lot. Emma Morano is also very religious person just like Aleksandra Dranka was. Both Roman catholic. To embrace and shake hand of the last person of the 1800s in my continent and such amazing person who is Emma Morano... it's an invaluable experience and indescribable feeling.

Anna Henderson [USA] *1900 - Seems to be in good phisical and mental health. She is the first person from 1900s to complete 114 years of life. 115 may be in reach but I can't say anything more.

Antonia Gerena Rivera [Puerto Rico/USA] *1900 - From Puerto Rico there were few verified supercentenarians, however among those few there were 2 WOPs. (Ramona Trinidad Iglesias Jordan, Emiliano Mercado del Toro) Mrs. Rivara was in good condition until the fall. I am glad she completed 114 years of life.

Ethel Lang [United Kingdom] *1900 - Wow... The last living Victorian completed 114. Of that I am grateful. In my opinion this is in first place thanks to the great care she has been receiving from her loving daughter for many years, that she made it this far.

Nabi Tajima [Japan] *1900 - Unfortunately, I can't tell anything. Don't know much about her either. Still, to become a member of Top 10 World's oldest one must be well 113+ so this is very special achievement possible for so few...

Blanche Cobb [USA] *1900 - At the pictures she looks very well and very optimistic. However this does not allow one to speak about the current health. I wish her all the best and hope that she will be with us for long time.

Sincerely,

Waenceslaus

Re: TOP 10

Dopiero teraz pierwszy raz czytam.
